At our next meeting, our own Dieuwke Eijer will be giving a presentation on "The Japanese Ways of Celebrating the New Year and the Netsuke that Relate to those Celebrations."  Here is Dieuwke's introduction to her presentation:

The Lunar New Year will start on January 31. Bob Goode introduced us to the year of the horse at the last meeting. But what did the Japanese do for New Year and which netsuke reflect those activities? A selection of netsuke that could have been worn for the occasion will be discussed. If you have netsuke with an image that is related to the celebration of the New Year, bring them along.

Please bring cash for your food/drink.

RSVP to: Jeffrey Klotz, 973-616-2988 or jklotz@takaraasianart.com

I hope you will join us for Dieuwke's talk.

Best regards,
Jeffrey
